A fermentative evening

We had a wonderful evening on the Macdonald Family Farm in Cowaramup, hosting a ferment-inspired degustation dinner with our bacteria-loving friends Paul Iskov (Fervor), Sandor Katz and Sharon Flynn, whilst also celebrating the release of our 2019 vintage.

The evening was cool and the skies threatened, but we were spared and our longtable nestled amidst the trees and ancient granite outcrops proved to be the perfect setting for a pretty memorable night. The wines tasted great alongside Paul’s sorcery, with the chardonnay and the Pemberton Marron, Samphire and Roasted Koji Puree pairing being a table favourite.

Paul and Lachie led us throughout the evening, and Sandor and Sharon joined in to impart some wisdom, before we all trudged home, content, merry and fermenting from the inside out.

On the whole, a pretty special evening.
